Eco Challenge
COMS was the communications service provider for Eco Challenge Fiji in 2019. COMS team established the VHF radio repeater system and linked it through a remote antenna into the IP network and finally the HQ, which was a very long way off the racecourse. COMS also provided supply of the handheld radios, HQ consoles, mobile base stations, and all the various paraphernalia that made up the radio system within the crucial time-lines set by the client (Amazon) to get the equipment purchased and delivered.
MaiTV broadcasting
MaiTV’s whole engineering and delivery system was setup by Coms Ltd. late 2011 when they started off the station from Garden City in Raiwai. Coms Ltd. played a crucial part in setting up the tower, satellite dishes, transmitters and providing encoding and decoding solutions.
DigiTV Tonga video playback solutions
Coms Ltd over the past few years had been associated with DigiTV of Tonga and apart from building a solar powered station in Tonga, Coms Ltd. in partnership with Ju-Soft out of Taiwan has provided 3 channel video playback solutions for the station.
Solar system for F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
Coms Ltd. installed a full-grid connect solar system for F.R.I.E.N.D.S. organisation towards Ba from Lautoka. This is confirmed to be a first legal grid connect system installed in Fiji complying with FEA standards and in conjunction with meeting the requirements for FEA.
Increasing the reach of SDA Church transmission
The SDA used to broadcast from Lami with a transmitter at Tamavua on the outskirts of Suva having a reach of the Suva population only. Coms Ltd. further increased the reach in the Eastern zone by relocating the transmitter to a higher site and further increased their transmission to the West as well.
Mix FM radio setup and broadcasting
Coms Ltd. had setup the station from scratch after an unsuccessful venture with a partner from abroad. Mix FM has now been in operation since 17th December 2007.
